What have your hands done lately? Yes, what have your hands done lately? Have you used your hands in a godly way? Have you used your hands in an evil way? The Bible says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) We have to be aware of the activities we engage in so our harvest will not be unpleasant. I am not saying that if you do all good this misfortune will not happen to you because that is how Allah (God) brings out what is in our heart. We must be tested! We must be tried! However, when we go through something, we should look to Allah (God) to help us and not take it out of other people. Please continue to do good work in the name of Allah (God), and the situation will become more bearable.
The Bible says, “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” (2 Corinthians 9:6) We cannot be niggardly with Allah (God) and his people. The word niggardly, is defined according to dictionary.com as not generous; stingy. Being niggardly is not just with money, but with your time! We should strive hard to do good with our money and our time! If we could not do something in front of Allah (God), then we should not do it! If we would not buy something for Allah (God), then we should not buy it! The Bible says, “The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward. (Proverbs 11:18)
With my hands, I strive to spend my money for the pleasure of Allah (God) and on things that would please Him. With my hands, I strive to spend my time helping others and being a positive example by living according to His word. With my hands, the next book, Better “ME” 3 will be out in early September. With our hands, we are closing on our next home very soon. With my hands, I am so excited about the next chapter in my life and how Allah (God) is using my person to encourage people. I am striving to love Him more and more each day by submitting to Allah’s (God’s) law. The Bible says, “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you. You have plowed iniquity; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your warriors,” (Hosea 10:12-13)
With my hands, for the past 32 months in writing for Scoop, I have tried to encourage every reader (starting with myself) to obey Allah (God) and think the way He wants us to think. With my hands, I have shared what has and continues to help me become better and this is a life journey. We must continue to strive hard to produce good with our hands. We must stop being envious and jealous of one another because it is breaking up the family. We must stop killing and raping one another because it is breaking up the family. We must stop stealing and defaming one another because it is breaking up the family. We must stop lying and showing cowardice when it comes to accepting the truth. We must stop letting our enemies pick our friends and dictate our activities. We must stop self-hatred and start to support ourselves. We must focus on the common goal of being pleasing to Allah (God) so that the family can heal.
Truth should be the standard! Truth should set the tone! Truth is how trust is established in any relationship, and when our hands break that trust, the family is broken. Always study and continue to follow Allah’s (God’s) word and do not compromise the truth period. We will find love when our hands are wrapped in producing good. We will find love when our hands are focused on being involved with the truth. We have to be steadfast in using our hands for the glory of Allah (God). We have to understand that being righteous is a goal that will have us worthy to stand in the presence of Allah (God). The Holy Qur’an says, “And it is said to those who guard against evil: What has your Lord revealed? They say, Good. For those who do good in this world is good. And certainly, the abode of the Hereafter is better. And excellent indeed is the abode of those who keep their duty -“ (16:30)
