Congratulations go out to Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR)! Last Saturday, WOAR rebooted a beloved tradition under a new name:
The Philadelphia Survivor March. Along with more than 200 survivors, supporters, and advocates, the march on April 27, 2024, from Love Park past City Hall and down Market Street to Independence Mall was inspiring and moving.
as inspiring and moving.
Following the march, the group assembled at the Independence Visitors Center for refreshments, lunch, musical performances, survivor testimonials, and inspiring speeches, as well as face painting and other activities for the kids and adults. This was the culminating event for SAAM 2024, and what a powerful and memorable day it was.
LaQuisha Anthony, WOAR’s Senior Manager of Advocacy, led the march with a megaphone in hand. It was a day of support, unity, and solidarity with survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and human trafficking. They honored their journey and reaffirmed our commitment to creating a world free from violence and exploitation. Hats off to WOAR for a job well done!!!!
