If you watch “Real Housewives of Potomac, Maryland,” then you will be surprised to hear that Karen Huger, the self-proclaimed grande dame of The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP), is leaving the show. She has also opted to prioritize her health over the highly anticipated Season 9 reunion. The decision was confirmed by her manager, Ryan Tresdale, who revealed that Huger entered a private recovery program and, as a result, was unable to attend the reunion taping.
Karen, a long-time fan favorite of the show, shared her decision in an emotional statement on social media, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to have been part of the series since its inception.
“Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so she was unable to attend the reunion taping today,” Tresdale said in a statement. “She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”
Karen’s absence comes on the heels of a single-vehicle collision in Potomac, Maryland. The incident led to charges including DUI, negligent driving, and failure to control vehicle speed. Following her guilty verdict in December, Huger’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, expressed disappointment with the outcome but vowed to appeal. Karen, you will be missed.
