When we have elected officials who do wrong, they need to go, and that’s exactly what has happened in the case of one George Santos.
Indicted Republican George Santos, in all reality, had a brief time in Congress, and it all came crashing down Friday, December 1. George Santos’ fellow lawmakers voted to expel him over criminal corruption charges and accusations of misspending campaign money. The House voted 311-114 to immediately remove the controversial Freshman lawmaker, above the two-thirds majority required to oust one of its own.
One thing is for certain. When you start telling lies, eventually, your lies will catch up with you, and that’s exactly what happened in the case of former Congressman Santos.
If you were to take the time to read George Santos’ biography that he “sold” to voters before rising to the U.S. House of Representatives, what he ultimately sold you was a long list of fabrications.
Santos came to prominence in 2022 when he won a seat in Congress. Months later, he finally admitted fabricating much of his biography, and federal prosecutors accused him of laundering campaign funds and defrauding donors. Santos has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
