Ladies and Gentlemen, My Brothers and Sisters, a new day is upon us. I Trust all is well, and folks are hyped and pushing forward with our new leadership in the City of Philadelphia.
Let me congratulate all the winners of the November 7, 2023 General Election. As you should well know, our 100th Mayor of Philadelphia is Mayor-Elect Cherelle Parker, which is historic because she’s both the first Woman and African-American Woman to take the helm of leadership for Philadelphia, PA.
You have 17 members of City Council, which consists of 10 District Members and 7 At-Large (Citywide) Members. The other offices where elections took place were:
The City Controller, Election Commissioners, Register of Wills, The Philadelphia Sheriff, Statewide Judicial Members, Common Pleas Judges, Municipal Judges, Judicial Retentions and Ballot Questions. The names of all election winners are available upon request.
Now, everyone with this article, I would love to create some thoughts and discussions around “What Now,” the election is behind us, and dreams, aspirations, laws, and policies are before us! May I remind you,
Two City Council District Members and 4 At-Large Council Members resigned from City Council to run for Mayor! So, many of you would say, so what? I’ll respond with a novice inner circle, a dominant culture that now has been diffused, which I feel creates a new breath of fresh air–a new dynamic force that allows for the possibilities of new approaches, new dynamics, and open doors welcoming greater interaction with constituents and other community associates.
What Now?
