Walk of Fame welcomes Patty Jackson

Scoop USA Newspaper would like to congratulate Philly’s own Patty Jackson of 105.3 WDAS-FM, who is being inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame. 

The South Philly native was also on air at WUSL Power 99 FM, Country format station 92.5 WXTU-FM, and 1310 AM WSSJ in nearby Camden, NJ. Patty is the first female personality to be inducted into the radio division. 

As stated on the WDAS Facebook page, “Patty continues the legacy of legendary WDAS talent to been shrined on the walk along with, “Joe ‘Butterball’ Tamburro, Doug ‘Jocko’ Henderson, Georgie Woods and Kenny Gamble.” This year marks her 41st anniversary in radio and her 31st here at WDAS. 

“The Walk of Fame is the City’s most impressive public monument to the people who have made Philadelphia a great music city,” said Mark Schulz, Managing Director of the Philadelphia Music Alliance. “Our 2023 inductees have deeply influenced how music is experienced, not only in Philadelphia; but around the world. We are excited to honor these incredible artists, bands, and personalities on Broad Street this April.” 

The unveiling ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 20. Patty will be inducted along with 2023 winners: Leslie Odom Jr., The Bacon Brothers, John DeBella, John DePriest, and soul group, The Tymes.
