Whether we look at our health, our safety, or our finances, all have been under attack and a struggle for years. Why? These three things affect the quality of our lives, and if we do not make some necessary changes, one of them will cause us to have an untimely death. What? Yes, our health, our safety, and our finances are the basic things that allow us to survive until we learn how to thrive.
Health.
As a whole, we are dealing with COVID-19, but there are many diseases and illnesses that plague our communities including mental health. Please check and see how many people have died from the vaccine, according to the CDC. Be proactive! We need to learn how to help our bodies function to the best of their abilities so we can have an opportunity to live well. When you have disease in the body, your immune system is working to restore the cell to a normal state. Our stress level, our diet, the amount of sleep affect the rate of recovery or how vulnerable our bodies will be to foreign bacteria. Some people call this being an “Acceptable host,” but if something is introduced through a pill or syringe, we now have to play a waiting game. How long? That is a good question because there is no certainty as to the results. I strive to trust Allah (God) and His Messenger in our midst, Minister Farrakhan, because He has not changed from the July 4, 2020 message to the world. The Bible says, “Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them an abundance of prosperity and security. (Jeremiah 33:6) This is my only hope because when I read the well-known history of various experiments, I trust Allah (God) and His Messenger. “Self-preservation is the first law of na- ture.”
Safety.
In various communities, crime is up, and we are losing women, men, and children in senseless shootings. Why?
Why is this acceptable? How has this become normal? This is a problem, and this threatens the lives that we say we love. We need to learn to stand on the truth! We need to learn to stand on the word of Allah (God)! If we want to really be secure, we need to correct all deviance from Allah (God). Rebellion was a price, but the person rebelled against Allah (God) first, and that rebellion was allowed to continue. “Self-preservation is the first law of nature,” but when would that cause a person to shoot up a store? A workplace? A school? A neighborhood? When a person does not respect their life, they will not respect another person’s life, so killing someone is a display of their disrespect of Allah’s (God’s) limits. In Georgia, the residential district Buckhead wants to separate from Atlanta because of the spike in crime so they can protect themselves. In Baltimore, some businesses are refusing to pay their taxes until the crime is addressed. The Governor of Texas announced they have put in their budget to build a wall to protect the citizens of Texas. They say, “If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem!” The Bible says, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14) The Holy Qur’an says, “Seek good counsel,” but all counsel is not good, and some people are trying to cuddle their political party instead of securing its citizens.
Finance.
The Bible says, “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38) We should always be willing to help others while still having respect for Allah (God) in how or where we spend our money. It is good to conduct business based on freedom, justice, and equality so you will not rob or mistreat people. When we strive to respect Allah (God) and manage our finances properly, He will multiply the fruit of our labor. When we make decisions with balance, everyone benefits from the actions taken. We are facing inflation, but we can make it together. We must learn how to help each other and buy in bulk so we can share. We would share with Jesus, so why not share with one another? Please remember, the seed you plant today goes into your future!
I pray that we begin or continue to be proactive with our health, our safety, and our finances to increase our chances for survival. We are creating our harvest today with our actions. How does your future look?
