The Bible says, “Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.” (Proverbs 27:23)
There are different races, classes, and creeds that make up this Nation, so leadership needs to have a balanced knowledge of every citizen. What is good for the whole? Do you know how to work with a different race? Do you know how to work with a different class of people? Do you know how to work with someone of a different creed? The above Bible verse could be an individual, family members, our community, our city, our state, or our nation, but we need to have a working knowledge so that we can come together based on freedom, justice, and equality.
The Bible says, “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?” (Luke 14:28)
In a book entitled, How Money Works, written by DK, it states on page 14, “It is possible for a government to fail financially, and there are two main ways this can happen. The first is when it loses the ability to meet its obligations to repay its debt, potentially leading to a default. The second is when it fails to reassure the public that the value of its currency, or money itself, can still be trusted, potentially leading to hyperinflation. Fundamentally both causes are due to a loss of public trust. So, if a government cannot be trusted, it is more likely to fail.” The leaders need to spend money only after knowing how they will pay for something. The leaders need to stop trying to buy people! What? That is what it looks like! Minister Farrakhan has said, “You will always get in trouble when you want something for nothing!” There is a string attached to all this money being given to people, and there are some long-term effects that most individuals are unaware of. Nothing is free, and the cost is great! The Bible says, “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.” (Romans 13:8)
The Bible says, “Where there is no guidance, a people fall, but in an abundance of counselors, there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14) In a book written by Dr. Creflo A. Dollar Jr., entitled No More Debt! he states on page 46, “How can God speak to you if you don’t believe He will? I’ve met people who were shocked to hear me say, ‘Here’s what God told me this morning…’ They look at me as if I’ve lost my mind! The truth is, God desires to share things with you, just as He did with Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, and other great men and women of God.” We need to seek out information about finances so that we will make better decisions immediately. There are some things we can start doing today and some things we need to stop doing today that would improve our lives instantly. We need to trust that inner voice that tries hard to guide us in the way Allah (God) would be pleased. Some people call it your first mind, or the God within, or their gut feeling, but whatever name we call it, we would be wise to listen. The more and more we listen to that inner voice, the stronger it gets, and you will always regret not listening. For example, do you remember when that inner voice told you to turn right, or get off the expressway, or stay home, or call someone and you did not listen, well what happened? God (Allah) did not leave us without counsel. We just need to learn how to listen.
The Bible says, “Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” (Proverbs 22:9) In a book entitled Save! America by Tom Metro and Kris Messner states on page 39, “Now that we’re talking about cutting costs, it’s very important to note that no one is calling for radical changes in your lifestyle. Reducing some expenses and completely eliminating others is not about submitting to a ration of bread and water. All you have to do is find a way to reduce your expenses by 2% to 5% a month and then divert that money into targeted savings and debt reduction. Just about anyone can do that.” Please know that we can do better with our resources, and the Bible talks about being faithful over little… because we want more, and we want to improve in all areas!
