A royal wedding it was! Congratulations to one of my great friends, Dr. Tracy Johnson, who married the love of her life in a socially distant royal wedding ceremony at Deliverance Evangelistic Church.
We were treated like royalty as we were greeted at the entrance by the royal greeters that gave each guest their own pen to write our names for contact tracing, along with a mint and a royal program. Once we entered, beautiful smiling ushers, all in matching gowns, escorted us to our seats.
Deliverance was decorated beautifully in the royal colors of baby blue and brown. The ceremony began with a praise dance by Ms. Hope Sawyer to God’s Chosen – Love Medley. My waterworks started early, the dance with the love medley touched my heart.
Tracy & Eric’s wedding had a team of ministers presiding over different segments of the ceremony. They were Rev Clement Lupton, III, Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church; Apostle Patricia A. Phillips, Nothing But the Word Deliverance Church; Rev. Dr. Joseph L. Ross, Sr., The Church Triumphant, Inc.; Rev John X Robinson, Deliverance Evangelistic Church; and Rev Eleanor Rooks.
The processional began with The Royal Court, Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, Ring and Bible Bearer, Maid of Honor, Town Crier and Flower Girls, all part of the Royal Family.
More waterworks as we witnessed the Presentation of the beautiful Bride, Dr. Tracy Johnson. The wedding dress was gorgeous; the bouquet lit up as she walked in escorted by her brothers.
The Royal Ceremony was complete with solos, prayers, communion, the lighting of the candles, and then The Presentation of the Bride and Groom; we now pronounce you husband and wife!!!! They waited a long time for this moment.
Erik and Tracy! Their Story Continues!
Their paths crossed as children when they attended the same elementary school and middle school. They dated for a brief period, but because they were in their youth the relationship did not last long, and they went their separate ways. Fast forward, to four years ago, Erik was at work and happened to look over one of his co-worker’s shoulders who was scrolling through Facebook at the time. Erik spotted a photo of Tracy and said to his co-worker “I know her.” He asked his co-worker to connect with her over Facebook, and he remembered every detail of the time they dated when they were younger. So they agreed to meet, and he chose to meet her at the very same parking lot where he first laid eyes on her. Now another chapter begins as the two of them are joined together as Mr. & Mrs. Rockmore!
