The people who refuse to get COVID vaccination are in DANGER

Reading Time: 3 minutes

As the highly contagious COVID-19 cases spike among the unvaccinated in many parts of the country, Philadelphia health officials said Thursday, July 22, 2021, they now “strongly recommend” that everyone — including the fully vaccinated — wear masks inside public places. “It’s time for all of us to do what we need to do to protect our city’s kids,” acting health commissioner Cheryl Bettigole said in a written release. “That means getting fully vaccinated if you haven’t yet, and it means all of us going back to wearing masks in public.” Overall, COVID-19 case rates are rising again in Philadelphia and the surrounding region but are still well below peak levels. For two weeks in late June and early July, the city had only about 24 cases per day. As of Thursday, the two-week average was 64. There has been an average of less than one death per day in the last month.
On a national level, the number of new cases of COVID-19 is up 58% from 7 days ago (the week of July 19th). This week, new positive cases of COVID-19 in America are averaging 39,939 per day. New deaths per day in America are down by 7%. 246 people a day died during the week of July 19th. As of July 22, 2021, 339 million Americans are fully vaccinated, that’s 48.8% of Americans, still a little less than half.
Unvaccinated people make up 99% of the people diagnosed with COVID-19 who are dying in America right now. Unvaccinated people are the ones by a majority, overwhelmingly, who are losing the battle with COVID.
Now here’s what I know: When I look back over the last 18 months, I know too many people that were my friends, at least 7 or 8 who were family members, and others who were people I looked up to and respected, who died from the Coronavirus. It breaks my heart. I know too many people who have told me, “Nope, I’m not getting “that vaccine” (the COVID-19 vaccine). I don’t know what’s in it, and I don’t trust the government.”’
Listen, I’m not here to make fun of anyone or to “shame” anyone for having their own opinion. To be quite honest, there was a time, at the beginning of this whole Coronavirus pandemic nightmare, when there was just “talk” about trying to create a vaccine that could fight against the virus, when I was saying out of my mouth, “I’m not taking that vaccine. Remember what the Government did with the Tuskegee Experiment on Black people?” Yup, I said it. I was scared of the unknown. I was feeling distrustful of the government.
But then, as I watched the news day after day after day from March of 2020 through the summer of 2020, and witnessed like the rest of the world, the millions of people who died from the Coronavirus, suddenly, my backward, backwoods thinking changed. Why? Because truly I do desire to live. I prayed about it, and I started listening to the medical doctors and the scientists. I listened a lot to Dr. Anthony Fauci. I also kept listening to Joe Biden, even before he won the Presidential election. Something about his sincerity rang true in my ears.
When the Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer COVID Vaccines were created, all I knew was I wanted the shot. When my turn became available, let me tell you, my husband and I wasted no time getting to Premiere Pharmacy in Charlotte North Carolina, to get our first and second shots of Moderna, thanking God all the way.
Meanwhile, aside from COVID-19 to fear, there’s this “variant” called COVID Delta, which medical experts are warning is by far worse than COVID-19. The information below came from a registered nurse here in the states: With the new virus COVID Delta, there is no cough and no fever. It’s a lot of joint pain, headaches, neck and upper back pain, general weakness, loss of appetite, and possibly even pneumonia. COVID Delta is more virulent and with a higher mortality rate. It takes less time to go to extremes, sometimes without symptoms.
This strain of COVID directly affects the lungs, which means that the window of time in which a person can get care and possibly be saved from death is shorter. Nasal swab tests are often negative for COVID-19, and there are more and more false-negative results from nasopharyngeal tests. This means that the virus spreads and spreads directly to the lungs, causing acute respiratory stress caused by viral pneumonia. This explains why it has become sharp, more virulent, and deadly.
People, please be more careful. You need to still avoid crowds. Keep distance between yourself and strangers, even if you yourself are fully vaccinated. Personally, I choose to still rock my face masks when I go out in public. Still wash your hands often, and when you cough or sneeze, use the top part of your arm to sneeze into, not your hands. Don’t give out any hugs or kisses and don’t accept any, until further notice, except from a person you live with.
Consider everyone asymptomatic. This new wave is much more deadly than the first. Take precautions. Do not keep this information to yourself. Share this edition of the SCOOP and this column with others.
