Call me a little slow or whatever, but I want to know, what happened to the summer of 2023? I cannot believe we are at the end of the official summer months, and by the time you are reading this column, if you have little ones, you’ve been in the stores, purchasing back-to-school items, etc.
As you read this online column, you may even be on what’s left of your summer vacation, trying to soak in the sun for just a little bit longer. People like me, well we worked through June, July, and August and snatched some fun here and there whenever we could. I am not complaining. I am grateful and thankful I made it through the summer uneventfully. While I will continue to be one of the voices in Philadelphia that says Philadelphia is a wonderful place to live, work, and play, to raise a family, to age gracefully, to get involved in civic events, it is also still a place where far too many crimes go down.
