The Crossroad

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The Bible says, “But my people have forgotten me; they make offerings to false gods; they made them stumble in their ways, in the ancient roads, and to walk into side roads, not the highway” (Jeremiah 18:15)
In life, we all come to the realization that there is a crossroad, and we must choose which way to live our lives. We must admit that good and evil have been a part of our lives even when it was from the actions of others that are in our family, our friends, or people in the city in which we live. Every individual must choose if they are going to do good or they are going to do evil. Every individual must choose if they are going to live according to God’s (Allah’s) laws and rules or be the helpers of Satan.
Unity is the language of God (Allah) and Division is the language of Satan. It is not just about the language, although we start there, it is about our actions. The Bible says, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.’ But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” (Jeremiah 6:16)
The Bible says, “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14) When you look at what you do or think, are your actions or thoughts good? Evil? We know when we are not doing good, right? Do you do evil or cause mischief when you think nobody’s around? Do you try and make life more difficult for people? What are your conversations like? Do you talk about people? Are you jealous of others? Are you envious of others? Do you work to destroy people’s reputation by spreading false information? Why is it challenging to not do unpleasant things to people? Do you feel bad when you do wrong? Please remember that Satan has children too! The Bible says, “You are your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has nothing to do with the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44) We should be working hard in our faith in God (Allah) and obeying His laws and rules, so we will not be one of them in any way, shape, or form that could be viewed as one of Satan’s children.
When you look at a crossroad, it is clearly going in two different directions, and depending on which one we choose, that choice will determine our future. The Bible says, “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (II Corinthians 4:4) This is why it is so important to fellowship with people striving to follow Christ. Just like Christ, you will get pleasure out of the doing of good! Not doing good just because someone is looking, or it’s your job or a photo opportunity, but because you love doing good. We must fall so much in love with God (Allah) that we love His laws and rules. We must choose to reflect Him in all that we do and when we fall short, be the first to apologize and restore the peace.
I choose God (Allah) and I pray that your choice is the same. We can have some heaven right now when we stop taking part in hellish things. The word hellish according to dictionary.com means extremely difficult or unpleasant. When we learn to be more like God (Allah) and the Bible says, “God is Love,” then and only then will we have peace. Crime will cease when we are 100% in submission to God (Allah) as a whole. Until then we must continue to work on ourselves and encourage others to choose the right road that leads to God (Allah). Let us work our faith and walk towards Him!
