Camden, NJ (December 5, 2022) – The Camden Education Fund (CEF), a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating progress in Camden’s public school system, today announced that it has named Giana Campbell as its new Executive Director.
“On behalf of the board of directors, we’re thrilled to welcome Giana to the Camden Education Fund,” said Falynn Miligan, board chairperson. “Giana brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving children in our community. We’re excited about the next chapter of CEF under Giana’s leadership.”
As the Executive Director, Campbell will oversee all facets of the organization, including driving the mission, fundraising, operations, local and statewide advocacy, and engagement with the board of directors.
Prior to joining CEF, Campbell served as the Senior Director of External Affairs for Uncommon Schools, a non-profit that manages public K-12 schools in Camden and Newark, NJ, Massachusetts and New York. In her role, she managed external partnerships, advocacy, parent organizing, governance, and media/communications. Previously, Campbell worked for the Tennessee Department of Education as the Director of Assessment Design. In her capacity, Campbell served as primary advisor to the Commissioners of Education and the department leadership team around statewide implementation of college and career academic standards and aligned assessments.
Campbell, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, received a B.A. in English and Political Science, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Virginia.
