As you read this online edition of the SCOOP USA Media Newspaper, we are about one week away from the Thanksgiving Holiday.
I do my best to remind myself every day to be thankful, to be grateful, and appreciative for the small blessings, for the larger blessings, and yes, even for some of life’s hurdles. Just be thankful. Sometimes hurdles in life can teach a much-needed lesson.
Some folks only remember to be Thankful around Thanksgiving. I won’t point fingers, and I won’t make fun of anyone. I’m just saying when you wake up every morning, and you can open your eyes, get up out of the bed, walk to the bathroom, and eat a meal. Those are simple things, but yet very important things, and we should be thankful for all those blessings.
I’m thankful to all the voters of Philadelphia and around Pennsylvania that came out and participated in the election process before November 8th or on November 8th.
I’m thankful to all the groups and organizations that find it not robbery to help families who have less, not just during the holidays but throughout the year. However, during the holiday season, it always seems like a few more people who “have” remember to help those who have less, and that’s good.
Countless organizations give away free food during the holidays, but to be helpful to perhaps some of our readers who may be low on funds this Thanksgiving, I will share a list of locations where I know the early birds can get a turkey with all the trimmings. The only thing it will cost you is time to go to the location, wait for the distribution to start, get what you need and be on your way.
