What do you do when you survive Kidney failure and have a successful kidney transplant? According to Carmen Finney, you host a free stay healthy event to raise awareness and say, Thank you!
Carmen Finney suffered from Kidney Disease for over ten years until she got the best call of her life; she would finally receive a new Kidney. Living with Kidney disease worsens over time and may lead to kidney failure. Once kidneys fail, you will need dialysis or a kidney transplant to maintain your health.
Philadelphia rapper Freeway was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2015 and had to undergo emergency dialysis. In 2019, he had a successful kidney transplant. Now, Freeway has made it his mission to spread awareness in hopes of saving people the pain and suffering he had to endure. Via the National Kidney Foundation, one in seven people in the United States is affected by kidney disease.
Carmen is a walking miracle and is overjoyed and overflowing with gratitude which is why she personally funded the Expo to celebrate one year of successfully living with her new kidney. Carmen formed the CF Kidney Foundation and will be producing more events to help keep people healthy. The EXPO was excellent; from breakfast to dinner to an after-party, the Doubletree in Plymouth Meeting was filled with vendors, massages, wine tasting, yoga, Zumba, makeup artist, facials, and face painting for the kids, a magic show, belly dancing, cartoonist, and so much more. There was no fee for the vendors but to donate a basket to be raffled off. All of the proceeds were donated to the National Kidney Foundation.
