Sorry for Loss of Police Officer Mendez; glad Philly Police have made arrest

Reading Time: < 1 minute

There are so many news stories I want to write about that are hot in the news right now, but at the end of the day, I have to take time and give an update on the murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Richard Mendez and the arrests of the suspects accused of taking his life and attempting to take the life of his partner, Officer Raul Ortiz.

Three young men have been arrested as of Wednesday, October 18, with two of them being arrested on the 18th and the first of the three being arrested on October 16th.

The suspects have been identified as Alexander Batista-Polanco, who is 21 years old, from Camden, New Jersey, and Hendrick Pena-Fernandez, also 21, and from Pennsauken, New Jersey. The third suspect in the murder of Officer Mendez, 18-year-old Yobranny Martinez Fernandez from Camden County, New Jersey, was arrested Monday, October 16th, in Cherry Hill.

All three suspects are being charged with the murder of Officer Richard Mendez.

For at least the last 12 months or so, the Philadelphia International Airport has been one of the chosen locations where car thieves go to steal automobiles. The airport is a hot spot, as they say.
