I still have business owners from various parts of Philadelphia who talk to me and say it’s still hard out here for small business owners after the pandemic. While it may look like everyone has recovered because people are back at work and businesses that survived the pandemic have reopened, etc., the reality is that everyone is still not back up on their feet.
The information I am sharing in this column today may not be for all business owners. However, I do believe it can be helpful to some of you. Thanks to PA State Senator and several of his colleagues, he’s hosting another Diverse and Minority Business Forum on
Thursday, October 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the campus of Temple University at the Student and Faculty Medical Building at 3340 North Broad Street.
Senator Street stated, “Since its inception, our goal has been intentional and deliberate in increasing diverse and minority business access to MBE/WBE/DBE Certifications, Purchasing Opportunities with the private and public sector, including contracting and bid processes with the City of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania. We’re looking forward to many area small businesses that have goods and services that governments use participating at our event. I am pleased to have U.S. Congressman Dwight Evans and Deputy Secretary for Diversity, Inclusion, and Small Business Opportunities for the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, Kerry L. Kirkland, partnering with me again to host this event.’
