Saluting Archbishop Mary Floyd Palmer A First in our nation, often overlooked

Reading Time: < 1 minute

When I think of Archbishop Mary Floyd Palmer, someone whom I have known, observed and witnessed growth over the last fifteen years, I think of a woman prayer warrior.

When I think of Archbishop Mary, I think of her past as a preacher’s kid, which is still her present.

I think of her past as a Philadelphia Police Officer.

I think of her as the woman minister who goes into prisons and works with incarcerated individuals.

I think of her as the motivational speaker; I know she is and the powerful preacher-teacher that I know she is.

Archbishop Mary Floyd Palmer was gifted by God with a beautiful melodic voice. In other words, she can sing. She can also play the piano like a concert pianist. She’s a skilled worship leader and mistress of ceremonies. She can also act, as witnessed in a recent original play pinned by Reverend Maxcine Collier and her son, Reverend Bobby Collier, for the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity. Above all of that, she is a child of God. She is a mother, a wife, a grandmother, and a pastor of a church, Heavenly Hall in West Philadelphia.

Now, here’s where the “firsts” come in.
