Rev. Dr. Robert P. Shine Sr. Pastor of Berachah Baptist Church in West Oak Lane has made transition

Well-known, dynamic pastor and past President of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity, Rev. Dr. Robert P. Shine, Robert has passed after a battle with cancer. He was 83 years old at the time of his transition on the morning of January 4, 2022. He passed at his West Oak Lane home, which he shared with his wife of many years, Barbara Shine. 

Up until the time of his death, on his best days, Dr. Shine could still be found in the pulpit, preaching and teaching God’s Word. 

Services for Rev. Dr. Robert P. Shine, Sr. have now been finalized. The service will take place at Triumph Baptist Church, located at 1548 W. Hunting Park Avenue., on Saturday, January 22, 2022. There will be a viewing from 8:00 am -10:00 am. The service starts at 10:00 am. Rev. Dr. James Perkins, a past President of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Pastor at Greater Christ Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan, and a good friend to Dr. Shine, will be the Eulogist. Dr. Shine will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery at 1511 Twining Road in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, immediately following the service.
