I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing “Phonz the Therapist” during my 30 Interviews in 30 Days. The series was in celebration of Black Excellence and celebrating 30 years of Urban X-pressions.
As we are approaching Spring, it is necessary to understand the benefits of therapy. You probably didn’t know that; actually, more suicides occur in the Spring than most people think! Phonz, the Therapist, wants to bring awareness to the situation and let the black and brown communities know there is help.
Alphonso Nathan, also known as “Phonz, the Therapist,” is a licensed black male therapist, speaker, author, and Mental Health advocate residing in the Philadelphia area. Currently, he is Vice President of Brightside Counseling, LLC and Co-Owner of Brightside Medical Practice.
Alphonso Nathan is also a husband, father, a black man an advocate, doing everything to promote healthiness and change the stigma of a black man. As a student of life, he continues to do his part in helping heal the traumatized society by working with organizations that align with his life’s mission.
