Philadelphia Children’s Alliance opens new satellite office

Reading Time: 2 minutes

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance (PCA) held a ribbon cutting at its newest site at Braid Mill in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Established in 1989, PCA is a non-profit organization that works to promote justice and healing for abused children in Philadelphia.

Headquartered in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia, PCA is the only non-profit organization of its kind, providing step-by-step care and support for victims of child abuse at no cost to them. The Juniata Park headquarters houses individual therapy spaces, on-site forensic interview rooms, and family meeting rooms. The site is co-located with the Special Victims Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department and the Department of Human Services, in addition to a medical clinic staffed by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

PCA supporters, friends, staff, Board of Directors members, Emeritus Board members, representatives from the Department of Human Services and the Philadelphia Special Victims Unit, and members of the general public attended the opening of the satellite office for this game-changing organization as it continues to lead the charge in how abused children are cared for in the City of Philadelphia, assuring that they don’t encounter additional trauma, leading to a smooth transition into recovery.

“The additional location at Braid Mill will not only expand PCA’s accessibility to neighboring communities, but it will also allow us to better serve children and families from all sections of our city. We’re creating another child-friendly, multi-use space for the unique services and support that PCA provides to children who’ve suffered unimaginable trauma and pain. This expansion allows us to have an even greater impact on their journey of healing and recovery,” said PCA’s Executive Director, Benita Williams, MSW, LSW.
