“The Power of One: An Intergenerational Tribute to Harriet Tubman”

The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts celebrated Harriet Tubman’s life with a multi-disciplinary, intergenerational performance based on the concept of courage, strength, and how the action of one woman has transformed the focus of women for many generations. This project included original, traditional and contemporary musical compositions to showcase the historical significance of Harriet Tubman, with an emphasis on the resiliency of the Human Spirit as it represents personnel achievements. Women such as Josephine Baker, Ida B. Wells, Shirley Chisholm, Maya Angelou, and Stacey Abrams were highlighted. All of these women have made major contributions to the growth and development of our people.
