Sunday, May 1st was May Day. Consider a spring holiday where celebrations include singing and dancing around a Maypole.
Chester commemorated the date with a Paint Party in the Sun Village section of the city. City officials and volunteers used the time to spruce up basketball courts–in anticipation of the summer’s outdoor activities.
Artist painted murals, and the City of Chester Department of Parks and Recreation was on hand to cut shrubs, clean up areas around the court and hang up new netting on the rims.
Thank you to Councilman Stefan Roots and Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Duane Lee (both of whom were in attendance) for their exemplary efforts in bringing this portion of the project to completion.
