Lord, We Thank You That We Have In You A Sincere Everlasting Friendship. Help Us To Be Like You In Our Treatment To Others. Amen.
I remember I had a couple of close friends who greatly disappointed me. I was depending on their support for a project I was doing, and they both let me down. Their actions reminded me of a biblical truth that tells us never to put all our trust in (wo)man but to put our trust in God.
You see. Your friends will disappoint you, but God will support you.
Your friends will let you down, but God will lift you up.
Your friends will lie to you, but God will always give you the truth.
Your friends will lead you astray, but God will always show you the right way.
Your friends will give you excuses, but God will give you blessings.
Your friends will just talk to talk, but God will walk the walk for you.
Your friends will say they have your back, but when times get rough–you might find yourself all alone.
Your friends will be with you now and then, but God will be with you through thick and thin.
Your friends have a convenient love for you, but God has agape love for you.
Yes, in this life, I have learned that some of my friends can even be my enemies. They are the ones I call my FRIENEMIES. But Jesus tells us to love those who hate us, use us, abuse us and misuse us. So I love them anyhow because my love is sincere and I’m a true friend.
That’s why I always say, Lord treat me tomorrow the way I treat others today. I wonder, can you say that?
Remember, the only real friend you will ever have is Jesus. That’s why the songwriter wrote: “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege it is to carry everything to God in prayer.” Amen, lights and walls, laptops, computers, notebooks, and smartphones! LOL Somebody.
