Mothers are the foundation of civilization. We don’t need permission to honor their dedication, contribution, and love each and every day. However, we can celebrate and learn from their mistakes and trauma while basking in their unconditional love. Masterminding the hustle is almost a requirement for mothers. Mothers juggle so many responsibilities. Mothers have the most important job in the world. They cook meals, clean the house and community, resolve conflicts, plan events, teach the family and others, chauffeur, do laundry, counsel, manage finances, direct activities, provide healthcare, and are world changers. Momma will believe in you when no one else does.
According to the records, Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia came up with the idea of Mother’s Day because she wanted to honor the sacrifices that mothers make for their children. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson made it official that the 2nd Sunday in May was Mother’s Day. This day is observed for mothers and mother figures who dedicate their lives to their children, family, and community. Mother’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world. However, the date may be different. I know by the time you read this article the Mother’s Day holiday will be over, but the love we have for women, mothers, family, the com- munity should not be predicated on a holiday.
Jarvis promoted wearing white carnations if your mom was deceased and pink or red rose if your mother was alive. This day of honor became commercialized. Anne Javis was against this and tried to abolish the holiday. Originally Mother’s Day was to honor mothers or mothering in addition to women’s fellowship. This was during a time when feminism was rising.
Motherhood requires masterminding this hustle called life. Motherhood is a masterclass in self-love and self-awareness. Mothering or motherhood is not easy, but it is essential. What were some of the lessons that your mother taught you? Share them with the youth. I can recall my mother and grandmother telling me the following: Go ahead about your business. Do not follow the crowd. If you do not have anything nice to say, keep your mouth closed. Do whatever makes you happy. The Matriarch of the family is the most underrated job. On the other hand, we will not shame the women who had a difficult time with their position in the world. We will learn from their struggles and traumas so we can liberate our future.
Mothers are the foundation of society, just like fathers. Can we come together as a family unit and support each other and the community. We gotta become the change that we want to see. It starts with me; it starts with you. Let’s first identify our purpose and set goals, value our time, eat healthily and exercise, increase our financial capabilities: identify and implement multiple streams of income, live within our means, find a hustle, pay yourself first and track your spending. In addition to all those habits, let’s pay homage to our elders and learn from them. Continue to share the experiences from this hustle called life with the youth.
Just imagine if the youth became aware of the different financial cycles. Remember the three financial wealth cycles are basic wealth protection, wealth accumulation, and wealth distribution.

Wealth Accumulation consists of ways to increase wealth, while Wealth Distribution is spending during retirement, estate planning, and transfer of wealth.
