Moore College of Art & Design’s Annual Thesis Exhibition presented virtually and in-person

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Philadelphia, PA , May 6, 2021– A special annual event for Moore College of Art & Design seniors has a new component—in addition to The Galleries at Moore being open to the public for the first time in more than a year for the 2021 Senior Show, attendees can step into the space virtually. The Senior Show kicks off Monday, May 10, 2021, at The Galleries at Moore, 1916 Race Street, located on The Parkway. This event is free and open to the public by reservation only and is ADA accessible. Reservations of up to four people per hour may be made using this link. Art lovers can see the exhibition online beginning May 14 at moore.edu/thesis2021. The online component of the exhibition will include a virtual tour of the artwork in the Galleries and individual artist pages for graduating seniors and graduating MFA and MA students in Moore’s Socially Engaged Art program.

In addition, Moore’s Animation & Game Arts department will celebrate the creative accomplishments of seniors with the 2021 AGA Senior Showcase, Saturday, May 15, 58 pm, with a virtual screening and reception. Join us on YouTube to view a curated livestream of student work, including digital paintings, animated shorts and live gameplay demos. After the screening, hop on Zoom for a meet-and-greet with the artists and designers.

“These shows are the culmination point of each Moore student’s time at the College, representing years of study, criticism, refinement and process,” said Cecelia Fitzgibbon, president of Moore College of Art & Design. “We share the students’ work with pride in the outcome, a point of light in a long, developmental process.  We hope that you see in this work the promising future that each student has as a result of their Moore education.”

A new feature of the online iteration of Moore’s Senior Show exhibition will be a virtual walkthrough tour of the Galleries, presented in a format often seen when viewing home tours on real estate sites. “If you can’t come in person, you can get an immersive experience from home,” said Gabrielle Lavin Suzenski, Rochelle F. Levy Director of The Galleries at Moore.

The in-person part of the exhibition is open to the public May 10–13 and May 17–21, with a limited number of guests admitted each hour. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 12:30–4:30 pm, with one-hour slots available. Reservations are required for entry, and visitors must wear masks and follow social distancing procedures. Groups are limited to four people or fewer.
