In 2021, we highlighted some new amazing authors from our area that are doing great work. This year, we are kicking off the first month of the year by highlighting another skilled author.
Winette E. Scott (Holness), a Jamaican West Indies native, is the eldest of five children and spent her younger years basking in the sun and enjoying all the delights of island life. It was there at the young age of about 9, that she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She migrated to the United States in 1990, met, and married her husband Morris A. Scott in Hartford, Connecticut. This Christian couple then moved to St. Louis, Missouri where Winette attended nursing school while her husband attended law school. She is the mother of three children–two boys and a girl.
Winette’s life story now includes her debut book entitled, “So You Think You Can Be a Mom,” which takes the reader on a detailed yet fun journey of her years as a mother and wife. This book is a very easy read and extremely relatable as any parent, single or married, would be able to see themselves in various situations. We wanted to get to know this brilliant author better, so she took time out of her busy schedule to answer some questions.
