Reading Time: 2 minutes

MEE Productions is thrilled to announce that it won another Telly Award in the esteemed Social Impact Video Category. The 2024 Telly Awards honor excellence in video across all screens and are judged by national leaders from major video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies.

The awarded video “What You Gonna Do?” captivated judges with its powerful message and impactful storytelling. Through compelling point-of-view visuals and street-credible narration, the video sheds light on how youth can defuse and de-escalate potential confrontations that can have deadly consequences by learning a lifesaving social-emotional regulation skill to keep their composure and walk away.

MEE used “What You Gonna Do?” to promote the importance of protective factors that help youth prevent a crisis from becoming a catastrophe. To do so, the video encourages youth to take a step back and take a deep breath when potential conflicts are on the verge of escalation. This short video’s ability to educate and incite positive change resonated deeply with viewers and judges alike.

MEE Productions is a nationally recognized behavioral health communications and social marketing firm that specializes in creating and disseminating messages that engage and inspire audiences facing the highest social disparities based on their social determinants of health. This latest, in a series of prestigious accolades, emphasizes MEE’s dedication to producing content that not only entertains–but also challenges perspectives and fosters dialogue about critical social issues. It also serves as a testament to the hard work and creativity of the talented team behind the winning video, including MEE partners like illustrator Kevin Gransby, who drew the dynamic images of characters representing today’s Philadelphia youth and their challenges.
