Ladies and Gentlemen, My Brothers and Sisters, I believe we should applaud our new Mayor Elect, Cherelle Parker, for her outstanding choice of Kevin Bethel for Police Commissioner. This gentleman of integrity brings to this appointment–creative, dynamic adeptness, and expertise that assures
he’s the “Right Man” for the job. His community connections are many and have been consistent and persistent over a very long time, whereby one can say–without any reservations or hesitation, that he’s community grounded; it’s part of his nature and consumed in his essence. He’s fair and genuine and is known to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others. It has been proven he brings great leadership to the table, while his administrative skills and approaches have also been commendable. Strategically, all these accolades and his accomplishments will need to come full circle because what he is signing on to handle; ain’t no joke and is not a “Cake-Walk!”
The crime in the city is perilous, more hideous, devastating, destructive, hateful, and heartless than we have seen in a very long time. So, Commissioner, you have your work cut out for you!!! So please work in an af- firmed partnership with the community so that safety and critical accommodations can be made–to bring about new relationships, trust, genuine respect, hope, and belief that together we will make a difference to “Save Our Babies, Our Families, Our Communities, Our City!
