There are two types of people in the world, the hustler and everyone else. Let’s be clear on the word “Hustle” or “Hustler” in regard to someone whose ambition and aspiration are aligned. The hustler makes short-term sacrifices for long-term gain. I am not talking about an individual who is involved in shady business or selling illegal products. I am talking about that rare breed that manages time to achieve results. The rare breed that is willing to die for their cause has an intolerance for the status quo, and unconditional love for their industry understands that rejection is a part of the process and knows that failure is success turned inside out.
Most hustlers believe in a vision that is beyond them-self. Steven Biko stated, “It is better to die for an idea that will live than to live for an idea that will die.” What causes are you willing to die for? Have you identified a dream that you would like to bring into reality while leaving a mark on the world? Hustlers normally go against the status quo. They cannot accept things the way they are, and they strive to constantly challenge the status quo. Hustlers are in love with their industry and are committed to improving themselves and the world. Are you willing to risk everything to achieve your dreams? You know my motto has been during the pandemic “Let nothing and no one come in between you and longstanding goals.” Do you have a willingness to put it all on the line to win? Masterminding the Hustle gives you the ability to square up with the challenges and find the best practice, solutions, strategies, or techniques to level up.
My favorite quote of all time was made by Abraham Lincoln; “Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” I am going to share a few habits by highly successful hustlers. Highly successful hustlers help people, not coerce or manipulate them. They make friends and understand that your network is your net worth. In addition to surrounding themselves with mentors and like-minded people. Hustlers starve their distractions. They know that time is money, therefore eliminating time-wasting activities is essential to success. Speaking from experience, I have unsubscribed to unnecessary applications and emails, disabled all text notifications, and sometimes I even silence my phone. Identify the distractions and starve them. Continue to work on yourself daily while staying focused on the mission at hand. Hustlers think bigger than themselves. They think outside the box and never give up.
There are a few people that you may identify with who made more money on their side hustle. Michael Jordan’s lucrative side hustle is the Nike Air Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets. He is worth $1.65 billion. Sara Blakely’s lucrative side hustle is Spanx, and she is worth $1 Billion. She is one of my favorite entrepreneurs because she reinvented an undergarment for women. Rhianna, the singer, launched Fenty in May 2019 and has reached billionaire status. Jayz, the rapper’s lucrative side hustle is Tidal and D’Usse.’ The company valuation is $600 million.
What is your side hustle? Is the side hustle lucrative? Do you have solid goals? The acronym for SMART goals consists of “S” standing for Specific. “M” standing for Measurable while “A” reflects Attainable. “R” is Realistic and “T” is Timely.
The “E” in “SMARTER GOALS” represents Evaluate. Evaluate your goals every single day, and your probability of achieving your goals is higher. We have over 60,000 thoughts a day, and our minds have a cleaver way of allowing us to ignore our goals by allowing us to experience emotional numbness.
The “R” stands for Re-adjust. Sometimes when pursuing a goal, you continuously hit a brick wall. When you hit a brick wall Stop, Breathe, and Re-adjust the methods, techniques, and strategies. Re-adjust means finding a different approach.
