Hustle for a higher calling. Mastermind your movement for a deeper cause. We are 6-months away from the new year of 2022. It seems like life stopped for a moment, and now it has accelerated at maximum speed. Therefore it is imperative that we do not lose sight of our mission.
We all are here to serve a purpose. I realized my purpose early in life. Do you know your purpose? Has it been revealed to you? Did the pandemic help you take a closer look at your life?
So we are about six months away from the new year, and it is time to evaluate short-term and long-term goals. Masterminding the Hustle is not just about getting things done swiftly but effectively and strategically. To do so, you must evaluate the process, determine the validity of your short-term and long-term goals and figure out how to adjust and move forward. I know for some of us, the pandemic got in the way of achieving goals and blocked our movement.
On the other hand, I know so many people who continued to innovate, elevate and pivot despite all odds. One of Philadelphia’s legendary hip hop pioneers had COVID and a hernia and still managed to pull off the best Memorial Day weekend old school party and cookout on May 30th with Roxanne Shant’e, Schoolly D, EST from Three Times Dope, Larry Larr, and The Godfather Spoonie G.
In addition, I had the pleasure of working with the Philadelphia Youth Leadership Council, Girls Track, and Boys Track over the last few months virtually regarding finances and entrepreneurship. Moreover, several of the students were able to launch their businesses, receive a consultation, and/or receive monetary donations for their business in a pandemic. These students participated in several teen Shark Tank events and won for pitching their ideas. Those are just a few examples of individuals hustling for a higher purpose.
Determining that you want to hustle for a higher cause starts with the mindset. The pandemic has challenged us on so many different levels mentally, physically, financially, and spiritually. Can you admit the brokenness that you experienced during this time?
Brokenness is a state of mind. We can heal, bounce back and move forward. Today’s mental state does not determine tomorrow’s attitude. In life, things fall apart and break but we must be wise enough to use every piece, every scrap, to patch ourselves back together and keep going.
“Kintsugi” golden joinery is the process of restoring broken pieces with gold, silver, or platinum. Most of us believe in embracing flaws and imperfection. Sometimes we believe “broken” things should be hidden or discarded. Instead, we should celebrate the individual we have become. When we are broken, we can actually create something from those mended and damaged pieces and scars that are more unique, beautiful, and resilient. You never realize your fullest potential until you are broken or go through tough times. Now that we are in the Post Pandemic era exceed your expectations.
Today is the 1st day of the rest of your life. The bright FUTURE has your name attached. Despite your circumstances, despite predictions, despite statistics, and despite all odds, you are the CHOSEN ONE. However, you must know what you want out of life.
“Stop hanging out with PIGEONS.” They have wings that they do not always use. You are an eagle, so soar. If you cannot gain anything from the individuals you are hanging around, your interaction is a waste of time. Never lose your sense of Self regardless of family, society, or circumstances, but first obtain and maintain Knowledge of Self. How do you gain knowledge of yourself? Through reading, writing, dreaming, visualizing, aiming for specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely goals and self-awareness will happen.
Always save 30% of your earnings and let the bills fight over the 70%. Remember 10% for charity/church, 10% for investments, 10% for the future. The difference BETWEEN the WEALTHY and the POOR is the way THEY SPEND their TIME and MONEY.
Think the Unthinkable, Believe the Unbelievable and impose the Impossible. Don’t shoot for the stars, Those that are chosen shoot for the moon. Remember there can be no progress without struggle. Beware of the Dream Stealers and become aligned with Dream Catchers. Always be Thankful and remain Humble, and you shall be Blessed.
