Local youth celebrated for Academic Success

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church celebrated its Class of 2021 high school graduates and students moving up to the next grade K-12, on Sunday, June 27, 2021, during a special community fellowship. The guest preacher for the celebration was Rev. Sharon White (Associate Pastor, First African Baptist Church, Sharon Hill, PA); her sermon: “Destined for Greatness!”
“Congratulations to Kyerah Jiles, our 2021 high school graduate. She was the recipient of our church’s $500 scholarship! She will be attending Penn State University this Fall 2021,” said Rev. Michael Robinson, M.S., Senior Pastor-Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church, 22nd and Berks Streets, Philadelphia PA.
STUDENT HONOREES:
• Laela Robinson, 2nd Grader, String Theory Performing Arts Charter School
• Jayden Jiles, 4th Grader, Step-Up Academy
• Rhema Garland, 9th Grader, Little Flower High School
• Rhaniyah Price, 10th, Imhotep Institute Charter High School
• Joy Robinson, 12th Grader, The Christian Academy (National Honor Society)
• Kyerah Jiles graduated from Mathematics Civics & Sciences Charter School (National Honor Society)!
First Lady Dana Robinson, Deaconess Kay Hutson, and Gail Johnson were the Planning Committee volunteers that produced this great celebration honoring our local youth! And the praise team trio of Rev. Johnny Thompson, Min. David Fattah and Russell Weekley were a blessing ushering the congregation into songs of praise!
A very special THANK YOU to Temple University/Office of Community Relations for their sponsorship of the post-reception for the honorees, their families, and guests. It was a memorable experience for all!
