It had been 45 years since John Bartram football team last won a championship game. That was back in 1976 when the Maroon Wave beat the Frankford Pioneers 20-6 at Kennedy Stadium to win the Public League title. That season, Bartram posted a 11-0 record while shutting out opponents nine times.
