Lord, when the storm is raging in our lives, help us to feel the comfort and warmth of Your Holy Spirit.
A few days ago, we talked about accepting the storms in our life because there will be storms. So today, I want to talk about living through the storms of life.
Let me begin by saying that even in the midst of the storm; God is still on the throne. In the midst of the storm, when the temperature is in the single digits, the wind is curling around and letting her voice be heard, schools and many businesses are closed, and most of us are shut in at home. We either have the day off, or we are working from home. So the question is, how do we deal with life in the midst of the storm?
First, we must understand that God is still in charge. He is well aware of what’s going on, and He knows how much we can bear.
Second, we must pray and meditate on His word. This gives us comfort and strength as we deal with and go through the storm. When we read His word, we learn of Him, and when we pray, He speaks to our hearts. Also, when prayers go up, blessings come down.
Third, we need to praise Him and have faith in the midst of the storm. Praise with faith in the middle of the storm moves God’s heart. It’s how His words become real for us. Moreover, that’s how God shows that He is real.
Big Momma would sing a song that went like this: “Yes God is real, real in my soul. Yes, God is real for, He has washed and made me whole. His love for me is like pure gold. Yes, God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul. If I’m right about it, let hear you say, “He’s real.” Now, what are you going to do while you are in that storm?
