Sharon Manker is bright and cheerful–but beneath the bubbly personality and petite exterior lies a dedicated lady who possesses an indomitable spirit and a tungsten quality, which is evident in her life achievements–so far.
A results-driven visionary, Manker’s stellar record includes developing and operationalizing strategies and programs that engage and unite diverse missions and organizations.
Manker attended West Catholic High School in Philadelphia and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and Applied Technology from Drexel University and a Master of Education with a Specialization in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University.
Her awards and recognition include the 2022 Drexel University Recent Alumni Distinguished Service Award, 2021 DiversityPlus Magazine’s Top 15 Women in Power Impacting Diversity, 2020 Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC) Emmitt T. Vaughn Corporate Advocate of the Year Award, 2020 National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) Veteran Advocate of the Year, 2020 Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Diversity Champion of the Year Award, 2020 National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) Living Water Award Finalist, 2019 Philadelphia Inquirer Diversity & Inclusion Award Nominee, and 2019 Minority Business News (NBM) USA Magazine Volume lV All-Stars of Supplier Diversity.
Manker admits that luck and being in the right place at the right time have contributed to some of her successes–but her hard work has always been at the forefront of her stellar achievements, which ultimately led her to her current position as Manager of Diversity Supplier at AmeriHealth Caritas.
Manker comes from humble beginnings and states she remembered her mother–always working, which influenced her own work ethic. This steadfast adherence led to her working two jobs to purchase her first home at the age of 27. A wife and a mother of two, Manker considers her family her greatest achievement.
Regardless of all of the education and the accolades heaped upon her, Manker remains focused, kind, and totally unaffected by all of it…she’s just a down-to-earth wife, mother, and servant of her community.
This Women’s History Month, ScoopVizion salutes Mrs. Sharon Manker for her contribution and tireless efforts to open doors and provide opportunities for minority businesses.
