Hold Up! I’m Not Finished, Yet!

Reading Time: 4 minutes

What A Night For Joe! The Philadelphia Democratic City Committee gave Our President, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. a night to remember, a dinner to cherish.
Chairman Bob Brady, Lt. Governor Austin Davis, and Mayor Cherelle Parker went all out for the Annual Democratic Committee Dinner. Our Good Brother, Thomas W. Blackwell, brought the festivities to order by singing the National Anthem, and my God, did he sing! Chairman Bob Brady moved the event forward by giving the Mic to our illustrious Chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Senator Sharif Street, 3rd Senatorial District. The Senator wooed the packed house briefly because he was aware of what the evening had in store! Our Senator (in his eloquence) always has a dynamic power-packing and crowd-lifting message, but he was cool tonight.
The Lt. Governor, Austin Davis, was calm, warm, and compassionate in his message sharing! One could see the ease and boldness he exhibited on stage, engaging the crowd. His role in serving as President of the State Senate and maintaining order, I believe, came to the forefront as he was instructing the room on what we must do to deal with what’s ahead in these political battles we will be confronting, He was solid, on point and made it very clear to everyone in the room what our missions were! Activate, motivate, and get every Democrat to the polls and VOTE!
I was truly energized to leave that dinner and push forward a better, brighter, people-infused movement. Love, not hate, is the way!
My SCOOP USA Family, I’m going to break here and speak on the exuberant, pure energy, desire, eagerness, appreciation, gratitude, and divine joy of raising two powerfully inspiring “WORDS.” Thank You! Yes! The movers, shakers, the door knockers, the young, the old, and in-between all came out to lift up, hold up, and push forward the whole Democratic Ticket, particularly the Democratic Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris and Vice Presidential Nominee Tim Walz. The cheers and applause for all the Democratic candidates were astounding. All in all, the committee people, the ward leaders, the administrators, and all the behind-the-scenes workers enjoy this moment of coming together in unity in a festive atmosphere, celebrating their work, their mission, and accomplishments! The Annual Dinner is theirs to behold! The Chairman, Mr. Bob Brady, shared a personal moment he had with the President, and he also wanted to thank the hard work of all those who worked to make the evening possible–from the organizing and planning committees, from the servers to the caters, from the Secret Service, the President’s staff to everyone who participated and all those who came! I’m grateful and thankful for everyone and everything that made the evening overwhelmingly special and remarkably awesome from the beginning to the end.
Now My story! “I got a call late Saturday night from President Biden. He said, “Hey Bobby, I’m canceling my trip so I can come to your cocktail party.” I said great. Then he said, are you wearing a tie? If so, I will wear one too! I said, Mr. President, you can wear your PJs if you want. He gave a great speech about what a great President Kamala will be and she will cut her own path. He said how proud he was of her. I told him we’re all together in Philadelphia, working with all our Committee men and women and with all the campaigns. We are going door to door in every neighborhood–in every part of the city. You always hear that this is the most important election for us, but I believe–it is the MOST important election for our mother and father, our husband and our wife, our children and grandchildren. We can’t go backward! We are looking for a great victory this election for our next president, Kamala Harris. Well, that is my story, and I am proud. Very proud to tell it!
Mr. Chairman, that story was well and good–but there are two stories I believe push the needle a little farther! When Mayor Parker was at the podium, firing up the crowd. She was show-nough on fire! She was lightening up the place, giving action plans, pushing the envelope, and coming out strong! Mr. Chairman, you felt she did enough, and you began to walk to the mic and Sister Mayor gave you a look, “Hold up!” and you eased back! Then, she hit us with when she won Mayorship! She paused, closed her eyes, and said, “I got a call from President Biden, and he said Congratulations! Then he said, can I speak to your son? She called her son to the phone, and the President of the United States congratulated her son for helping her win the election! In one of the most profound, compassionate, loving breaths, she said that touched her like nothing ever did! That moved everything from politics to praiseworthiness! A reflection of who Black women are, humility at its Best, at its Finest!
Then, from this, President Biden comes to the podium. The room exploded, and the people screamed, hollered, clapped Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! They roared continuously until the President said, “Alright! Alright! Alright Enough!” Then, in that smooth, tantalizing voice, he began to balloon, blow up, call to arms the political battle cries! It’s time to go forth, march on, and knock down the destroyers of this great democracy many of us have come to love and will protect at all costs! He jumped from the battlefields to a sentimental moment when he talked about the journey of his son, Beau! That Iron, Powerful, Entrenched, Committed, Bold, Battle Tested Man among Men and Presidential to the Cord shared a story of a Proud Father listening to a great son, which resulted in Kamala Harris becoming his Vice President Running Mate where they destroyed their opponents in 2020! And Now, in 2024, President Biden endorsed Vice President Harris to become the Democratic Presidential Candidate! There was a caption in one news print after the 2020 Elections that stated, “LOVE WON” and there will be another Caption in 2024, stating, “LOVE WINS AGAIN!” In this country, we have no room for “HATE!”
My Brothers and Sisters, Ladies and Gentlemen, in my sharing, writing, and engaging, we are helping you to look at things in the content of infusing the knowledge and necessary energy needed to push forth that inner spirit we all possess to challenge those things that must be confronted as well as have the wherewithal to be about bringing positivity and your warrior aggressiveness to all the battles we will encounter!
Your Brother, creating new light and greater awareness in our Life Journey, Tyrone L. Reed
