Josh Shapiro was a featured speaker Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Triumph Baptist Church in North Philadelphia, during a Get Out The Vote Rally, just days away from the Mid-term elections on Tuesday, November 8th.
“I want to pick up where Senator Street left off,” said Josh Shapiro, “Talking about faith. See, that’s something that he and I have spoken about over many years of service together. We’ve had the opportunity to work together in our politics. We also had an opportunity to talk about our families and about faith. When I was here a few Sundays ago, I talked about faith. I talked about the way I was raised in my community by parents who taught me, because of their faith, that we have a duty to try to repair the world. I learned from my scripture (and I’m not here to preach to anybody or tell you what to believe), but let me tell you what I believe. My scripture teaches me that no one is required to complete the task, but neither are we free to refrain from it. Each of us has a responsibility to get off the sidelines and get in the game, and do our part. I’ve been trying to do my part every day as Attorney General. And God willing–in ten days, I’ll have the opportunity to do my part as your Governor. When I think about “my part,” I want you to understand what I mean by my part.”
