Nine recipients recognized at October 20th ceremony at the Academy of Natural Sciences
PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 21, 2022) — After an almost three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Green Philly recognized nine Philadelphia-area changemakers with distinction at its SustainPHL awards ceremony on Thursday, October 20. With 28 nominees in nine categories, hundreds of people excitedly toasted their impactful efforts. These awards honor a gamut of impassioned environmentalists, from sustainability visionaries to local environmental heroes making a difference in their communities.
The fifth annual SustainPHL ceremony was held Thursday, October 20, at the Academy of Natural Sciences. In lieu of plastic cups, guests received reusable cups thanks to partner The Rounds.
This event is a celebration of sustainable significance in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. The award categories include: Activist of the Year, Sustainable Communities, Impact Business Leader, Business Innovation, Environmental Justice, Climate Hero, Neighborhood Champion, #FuturePHL and Sustainability Next Gen. Nominations were open to the public, and recipients were selected by committee.
Attendees enjoyed local fare and libations, including Dads Hat Rye and Philadelphia Distilling Blue Coat Gin.
