The Bible says, “For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17)
A gavel is used by a judge or a chairperson to bring a meeting to order or to get the attention or regain order of a group of people. However, Allah (God) is The Judge, and He is calling us to order. The Holy Qur’an says, “Say: Who is it that can protect you from Allah if He intends harm for you or He intends to show you mercy? And they will not find for themselves a guardian or helper besides Allah.” (33:17) We should always put our trust and faith in Allah (God) and realize that He has the final say. Most of what is currently going on in our lives are the consequence of us not responding to Him hitting the surface of our minds and hearts.
We need to learn to respect the one in which holds the gavel and stop being rebellious, so we have life more abundantly. The Bible says, “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence, earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.” (Revelation 20:11-12) Our good should outweigh our bad, but if it does not, we have work to do on ourselves. We should start today striving hard in Allah’s (God’s) way to do good, to be right, to obey His commands, to follow good leadership, to support your own first, to speak kind words, to trust Allah (God) and always submit to truth. The Holy Qur’an says, “Whatever good befalls thee (O man), it is from Allah, and whatever misfortune befalls thee, it is from thyself. And we have sent thee (O Prophet) to mankind as a Messenger. And Allah is sufficient as a witness.” (4:79) God has the gavel!
Why is it so difficult to keep things in (a) Right order? Why is it so difficult to consistently walk in Allah’s (God’s) word? Why do we talk about people? Why do we mistreat people? Why do we compare people? Why do we go out of our way to try to make someone’s life more difficult? Why do we have to put people down so that others will look at us more favorably? Why do we stab people in the back and then act like we did not do anything? I could go on and on, but time and space are very limited. However, I think you get the point.
We have work to do! The Bible says, “You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time? ‘And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?’” (Luke 12:56-57) We have to learn to correct ourselves. That is how we get better because a lot of times people around you do not say anything to correct your wrong. I do not mind saying something, but if I make a decision not fellowship with you anymore, I wish you no ill. However, I am not going to give you another opportunity to harm me. Sometimes, being around negative spirits brings out the worst in me, so in striving to be pleasing to Allah (God), I realized some people are going to have a problem with that. Some people may judge you and put labels on you that are wrong and unjust but keep your eyes on the one that has the gavel. Allah (God) is who I am striving to please, and I pray that does not bother anyone. Think about this. If we were all striving to please Allah (God), we would not have time for the other foolish things.
The Bible says, “The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.” (Deuteronomy 32:4) When we really strive to reflect Allah (God), we will be busy and more productive in a positive way. Think about this. Who goes into a fight thinking they are going to lose? Who goes to a job interview thinking you are not getting the job? Who keeps doing the same things year after year after year and not improving? Who stays in a relationship that is toxic? Who has children they do not want? Why do people abuse their bodies? Who knowingly puts poison in their bodies? Who trust Satan? Who condones lies? Who accepts bad treatment? Who does not study the word of Allah (God)? Again, I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. We have a lot of things we need to correct. We must start today!
The Holy Qur’an says, “No people can hasten on their doom, nor can they postpone it.” (15:5) Please remember that Allah (God) has the gavel that has called the world to order! We need to pay attention and obey His every command if we really know what that gavel means. The Bible says, “For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths.”(Proverbs 5:21) We have no time to lose. Please choose your path wisely! God has the gavel!
