Female Entrepreneurship stands out and attracts more sales

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Covid-19 pandemic’s disruptions were notably hard on small businesses, especially those in face-to-face fields such as the arts, entertainment, recreation, restaurants, and retail.

Nevertheless, this summer in New York City, small hand-crafted businesses are making a resurgence in full force and not just focused on sales but with valuable purpose behind them.

An excellent example is the flea market at the famous Chelsea Market, Artists&Fleas. This place is famous for housing small local businesses and artists. After almost two years of working with limited days–due to the pandemic–the market has finally reopened every day of the week from 11 am to 7 pm.

There, not only can a variety of small entrepreneurs be seen, but what draws attention are women who set up their businesses alone. Not only for sales but to help others by donating part of their profits to worthy causes, such as breast cancer research and education, among others. Notably, most of these women managed to circumvent the pandemic crisis and expand their brands.
