Experience Staying Power at the Philadelphia Zoo

Reading Time: 2 minutes

PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Philadelphia Zoo unveiled its new exhibit Staying Power: Be Distinct or Go Extinct which opened to the public on April 1st. Tickets are available from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm daily to experience these life-sized dinosaurs and oversized insects,

Put an extra Spring in your step as you walk amongst the dinosaurs, like the Giganotosaurus, T-Rex, and Velociraptors, or be enchanted as you watch super-sized honeybees communicate with one another in an intricate dance. Of course, not all bugs are created equal-you may want to plug your nose when you meet their 10-foot Stink Bug and stay alert as you cross paths with the 15-foot Peacock Jumping Spider.

As you immerse yourself in an encounter 100 million years in the making, you’ll learn how these 25 animatronic giants lived, behaved, and adapted in order to survive. Staying Power will entertain, educate, and create an interactive experience for everyone to enjoy and inspire visitors to rethink what we can do to make changes to save ourselves and our planet.

While you’re there, continue your adventure by visiting all of the Philadelphia Zoo’s residents; the Philadelphia Zoo is home to more than 1,700 rare and endangered animals–keep an eye out for anything happening inside Philadelphia Zoo’s Zoo360. Opportunities to marvel at the Zoo’s animals, like the mighty lions; majestic tigers; spectacular monkeys, and other magnificent animals abound as they can travel and explore via see-through trails that connect habitats.

For tickets to see Staying Power: Be Distinct, or Go Extinct!, you must purchase a standard Zoo Admission Ticket in addition to the special experience (adults and children ages 2+); members of the Philadelphia Zoo will receive a special discount for Staying Power along with free admission to the Zoo with the purchase of a reservation.

The Philadelphia Zoo is open daily this spring from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm; for tickets and more information, visit https://www.philadelphiazoo.org/staying-power/.
