Congressman Dwight Evans, State Officials and More Than 300 Activists Are Expected to Come Together to Rally at Thomas Paine Plaza (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — On Thursday, April 14th at 6:00 PM, US Congressman Dwight Evans, state officials including Sens. Sharif Street and Vincent Hughes, Rep. Jordan Harris and City Councilmember Cherelle Parker and will join For Our Future PA and Building Back Together to mark the historic confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the position of Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Speakers will also discuss the impact this will have on generations of Black women and girls as well as Justice Brown Jackson’s record of serving as a fair and deliberate advocate for justice. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation makes her the first Black woman Justice on the nation’s highest court. Organizers are expecting this high-energy rally to draw more than 300 activists from across the City of Philadelphia and throughout the region, and there will be a stage and rally signs held by activists who attend.
