Reading Time: < 1 minute

The partnership of Eddystone Borough and Rite Aid Pharmacy to provide vaccines to the residents of Eddystone became official on April 28, 2021, when residents received their first shots of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine. Residents eager to receive their vaccines started arriving at Joe Hughes Hall at 10 am.

Along with borough residents, the event was tabled by the office of State Representative Brian Kirkland. The event was organized through the efforts of Council Vice President Rob Yannuzzi, Pharmacist Alex Scota, Police Chief Ed Mokshefsky, Police Chaplain Reverend Ronald Hughes, and volunteers from the Eddystone EMS and Fire Company. Yannuzzi stated, “It’s great to see Eddystone res- idents do their part to help make this community a safer place to live and work. Thank you to Alex Scota for help- ing the borough to organize this event.”

Scota, who last year purchased a home in Eddystone said, “I decided I wanted to give back to the community that welcomed me with open arms as a neighbor and active member of the community. It was my pleasure to make the residents in the community I have joined one step closer to safety from the deadly pandemic that has interrupted our lives. I look forward to continuing to serve this wonderful borough to making it a safer place for everyone to live.”

Residents returned on May 26th for their second shots, and all went well.
