Ducky Birts Foundation 16th Annual Capital Fund Drive

The Ducky Birts Foundation held its Annual Capital Fund Drive Luncheon on Saturday, April 23rd at Santerian Hall at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 101 Ashmead Road, Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. The luncheon honored 2022 Medallion Awardees. 

The individuals in this year’s group of honorees are both impressive and accomplished. They include Malcolm Kenyatta, Pa House of Representatives(D-181st District), Rebecca Rhynhart, Philadelphia City Controller, Dwight Pedro Harris, Chief of Staff, Office of Senator Art Hayward, Kyasha Tyson, Director of Community & Economic Development, Office of Councilwoman Cherelle L. Parker, Virginia B. Bishop and Sandra L. Allen, 1st and 2nd Vice-Chairs, Board of Trustees, Zion Baptist Church, Reverend Robert H. Paul, Recruiter, Sheet Medal Workers,’ Local 19, Sherri Horsey-Darden, Publisher/Owner, Scoop USA Media, Wendell Whitlock, Past Chairman, Progress Investment Associates, Inc., and L. Douglas Harrell, Jr., 48th Polemarch, Philadelphia Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. 

This years luncheon was the first time many supporters have been together since before the pandemic. The spirit of family and the foundation was definitely in the room. In additon to celebrating the honorees, Ducky Birts, a true busienssman at heart, gave special recognition to small business owners who participate in the Shoprite Business Incubator Program. Each business owner was given an opportunity to share their business and the impact being in ShopRite stores has had on their success. There also was a special guest appearance from Dr. George Fraser, who shared some sentiments on family, life and marriage and information on his books that were avaialble for puchase. And to top off the event, since it was Ducky’s birthday, of course, there was cake. 

Established in 2006 by Donald “Ducky” Birts, The Ducky Birts Foundation is a 501 C3 Non-Profit Organization whose primary focus is educating youth in economic development and government operations on every level.
