Singer and Songwriter Dominique Jones, known simply as Doe, is celebrating her four Dove Award nominations, including New Artist Of The Year. Most remembered for her work with her family’s group Forever Jones and hit song, “He Wants It All.”
Doe shared with Studio 5 that some of her songs are years old, but she continues to write and have sessions with people for inspiration. ‘I Try’ was one of those songs that came from long nights and digging continuously within to find what really ministers to others.
Doe also told Studio 5, “Everybody has these internal processes and how they understand and express in life. And in some ways, that’s how you’re. That’s what your light looks like. So for me, music is that. And so that’s where that line comes in. Like, I like to use my brain for you and to write songs for you. And you’re getting all the best in me because I’m giving all the best of me. And I feel like this is the best of me.”
“When I Pray” is another single that people worldwide are listening to and enjoying. She referenced she was praying for a friend–who was battling depression and anxiety when the words for “When I Pray” just started taking shape.
