“Polish farmers have blocked border crossings to stop imports of lower-priced grain from Ukraine. Farmers in Belgium, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Spain are also taking to the streets to show the public their anger about new and costly rules that are being imposed on farmers.”
Why Are EU Farmers Protesting

The US corporate media is in full censorship mode, committed to treating us like mushrooms, keeping us in the dark, constantly fed cow manure. The news we do get is slanted to the interests and worldview of the ruling/ownership class and a mixture of stories designed to distract, dupe, discombobulate, and deceive us.
We cannot count on the legacy media for truth, honest reporting, or information we can use for our own edification, enlightenment, or empowerment! We cannot count on corporate media to present information that will assist us in making sense of what is going on in the world or truly comprehending the issues and events that impact our daily lives.
Our world is one. There are no divine or natural divisions on this planet other than the land from the oceans and seas. All other boundaries are man-made. We share this planet and should benefit from its abundance and blessings, but we don’t.
As we speak, millions of farmers throughout Europe (and Asia) are protesting, striking, and demanding a change in policies that are deliberately undermining their opportunities to earn a decent living. Think about this for a minute–farmers in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Greece, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, and recently in the UK and India, are blocking traffic, obstructing border crossings, driving their tractors into cities holding demonstrations in their capitols. Have you heard or read about any of this in the mainstream media? If you have, did the media provide information and analysis about what these farmers have in common and what the similarities of their complaints are?
The common elements driving the European farmers’ dissatisfaction both with their own governments and the EU are–bureaucratic red tape, EU regulations/policies, cheap imports, subsidy cuts, diesel prices, attempts to mandate and limit production, and the EU’s “green environmental” policies. We never hear about these things in this country for a myriad of reasons, such as not wanting to give us ideas or examples about pushing back on the agendas and policies and understanding the policies the European farmers feel are destroying their livelihoods and futures.

Americans have a lot in common with the European farmers. We just don’t know it because we are deliberately kept ignorant about what is really going on. In the US, we rarely hear about world events or the ways the events in other parts of the world directly impact us. For example, since 2014, the US has supported Saudi Arabia in its war against the Houthis in Yemen. The Houthis have been supported in this conflict by Iran, and this ongoing proxy war has revealed the inability of the Saudis, despite the support of their US allies, to break the will of the Houthis in Yemen.
Also, in 2014, the US supported a coup d’état in Ukraine that has led directly to the current situation there! The West has failed to learn from either of these situations nor accepted the fact there are some people they will not be able to bully and intimidate.
A similar scenario is being played out in the Red Sea situation; the Houthis are siding with the residents of Gaza and are targeting shipping in the Red Sea, a crucial lane to and from the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea, European markets and the Gulf of Adan into Asian and Pacific markets.
The Houthis are targeting vessels that fly the Israeli flag, support Israel, or that are destined for Israeli ports. Their tactics are having a deleterious impact on global trade! In response to the Houthi attacks, the US and UK are attacking the Houthis, but to no avail. The Houthis are not backing down, and their attacks on shipping are having a direct impact on global trade and our pocketbooks and wallets.
Because of the Houthi attacks on Red Sea cargo shipping, the costs of insurance for shippers are escalating, costs that will be passed on to consumers like us. Many shipping companies are taking an alternative route down the coast of West Africa around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, which delays arrivals by days. This is causing supply chain delays and availability, which are being felt in the global marketplace.

But the corporate media spin machine rarely discusses these developments, and more importantly, the Western warmongers are resorting to form with escalating violence. They are like a mechanic who only has a hammer, so he or she treats everything like a nail.
Finally, we are being gas-lighted and lied to about inflation. The politicians and media say inflation is waning; do you experience any waning prices at the gas stations, retail shops, or supermarkets? The money supply has dropped, which means the amount of money (dollars) in circulation is declining. So now we have less money in circulation while prices rise due to the devaluation of the currency, which is inflation!?

The Federal Reserve thinks this policy will help the situation. This could be a formula for disaster. Are you being told any of this in the mainstream media?
