Diabetic Luncheon resumes at Chester City Hall

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Chester City Department of Health, Save Your Soles, and the Chester Environmental Partnership held their annual Diabetes Luncheon on Thursday, June 30th in the Community Room at Chester City Hall.

Following 2 . years of a global pandemic, it appears that things are getting back to some degree of normalcy.

This is the first Diabetic Luncheon event since 2019 and the start of a global pandemic that changed the world and the way society interacts. Community members gathered for lunch, have blood pressure checks, receive Covid vaccines and information, and have their feet checked by Dr. Renzi. With an abundance of caution and in compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC and the host facility, attendees were still required to be masked.

“It’s great to be back. I’ve missed the interaction,” stated Podiatrist Dr. Renzi.

Councilwoman Elizabeth Williams served as Master of Ceremonies for the occasion. Following the opening prayer by Dr. Horace Strand, Chairperson for Chester Environmental Partnership, and a welcome from Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland, the program progressed.
