Depend on God, not Government!

Reading Time: 4 minutes

The Bible says, “Thus also faith by itself if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:17) Family, we have to work! We have to work our faith! If we do not like our current situation, we need to start working to change it! Please do not depend on the government to give you a check, but look to God (Allah) to open the doors that need to open so that you will do better. I remember coming up when people on welfare, was embarrassed to be getting food stamps or a welfare check. Some people, even though they were in need, work to make sure the aid was temporary. Some people had a couple of generations that received assistance, and it was encouraging, even to have a child to qualify. However, most of them still went to church and tried to raise their children to be God-fearing while waiting for their changes to come. I watched the church bus come pick them up four times a week, and most of the time, the whole family went. The Bible says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) After a while, the mother got a job. Even though she could not go to church as much, her children still got on that church bus. Depend on God, not the government!
Look, the government has its place, but it does not and should not be our go-to. Government has its place, but Allah (God) and His laws and commandments should be how we govern our homes if we are Believers’. We should live according to the law of Allah (God) and then the law in which our local, state, or national government put forth that do not conflict with His laws. Now, this is why voting is so important. We should vote for people that, not only say they live by God’s (Allah’s) law and their actions, past and present bear witness that is the truth. The Bible says, “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” (Titus 1:16) Listen, you can take a job or position that will require you to diminish God’s (Allah’s) law? Is that a job or position that you should take that requires you to disobey God (Allah)? What are you doing? Who are you obeying? Who are you depending on? The Holy Qur’an says, “O you who believe, why say you that which you do not? (61:2) We have to work our faith, and our work should be something that would glorify Allah (God). We should not be doing anything that God (Allah) forbids! We need to trust that God (Allah) knows best and He has seen what we are dealing with today. I strive to be obedient to Allah (God) and His messenger and depend on Him!
When you go to some churches (before COVID 19), many churches have an American flag inside them. Why? Why do a lot of churches have an American flag on the stage or pulpit? I thought, Church and State were separate since 1833, according to www.freedomforuminstitute.org? Why is it that most Churches get monies from the government? Why is it that most Pastors have to get a license from the government? According to dictionary.com, a license is a permit from an authority to own or use something, do a particular thing, or carry on a trade. What is the Faith-Based Initiative all about, and why do some Churches, Temples, Mosques, or Masjids get it, but some do not? What interest does the government have in these religious places, and what role do religious leaders have with the government? Some people have accused religious leaders of robbing the people. For example, they live well, but their parishioners are suffering. Even though they constantly pay their charity. The Bible says, “Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, ‘Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she shut of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Depend on God, not the government!
Governments come, and governments go, but God(Allah) is the eternal! We can study the time of Moses and Aaron dealing with the Pharaoh of that day, but we all know how that ended. We can study the time of Noah or Abraham with Lot, and we all know how that ended. God (Allah) has never sent a politician to lead the oppressed people to freedom, and He (God) has not changed. We are heading toward hard, hard times, and the only one that can help us is God (Allah). The Bible says, “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5) When you get in trouble, who do you call? When you are sick and need healing, who do you pray to? When you wake up in the morning, who do you thank? Allah (God) should be the head of our lives, not the government! We need more God, less government! We need to work our faith and watch what our hands produce! God promised us, according to His word, “And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.” (Deuteronomy 28:13) Depend on God, not government!
