Denise King Entertainment presents Gospel Meets Jazz two-free concerts on Sunday, April 16th in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, featuring Philly’s own, World-Renowned Jazz Artist Denise King. This special show will be held at: CSN Productions, 3510 Scotts Lane, Studio 3015 A, Philadelphia, PA 19129. The studio is nestled inside the Scott Mills community in Philadelphia’s East Falls neighborhood. Show times are 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. The 2 p.m. show is sold out! The concert will also feature the Freedom Choir Ensemble. Refreshments, vendors, and free parking is also available. Registration is required for admittance.
Currently residing in Paris, Denise, a West Philadelphia native, has performed around the world from London, Turkey and Brazil to Africa, Germany and Japan. Over the past 25 years she has entertained thousands and is always on demand. A proud member of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) Local 77 and The Musician Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) Denise said, “It was these two organizations that made grant money available for musicians like myself to produce events for Black History Month and Jazz Appreciation Month.”
Additionally, she stated how happy she is to have received these grants that enable her to return to Philadelphia and share her talent with the community. “I really appreciate what they [AFM and MPTF] are doing, this allows me to bring cultural events to the community for free. She continued, “Everyone can’t afford to buy a ticket to go downtown to pay for parking, drinks and something to eat –it can all be expensive. I am trying to address the culture needs of my community and this trust fund is making it possible. CSN Productions is allowing me to use their establishment to facilitate this show and it’s wonderful, because again we are giving some culture back to the community,” she added.
