City supplies fans for Seniors during Heat Wave

The City of Chester partnered with Keystone First, Stormwater Authority, and the Foundation for Delaware County collaborated to bring senior and disabled residents fans during the heat wave. The Caring Friends Foundation provided packaged meals, fresh fruits, and vegetables to encourage healthy eating, especially during this unprecedented heat wave. 

With the thermometer reading almost a hundred degrees for eight days straight, that feels like the temperature of well over a hundred most days, and the high humidity; it felt as if you were in an oven when you opened your door. 

Rosetta Carter, Director of Health Education for the City of Chester, along with her assistant Ms. King, labored to ensure that Chester residents could get much relief from the heat. 

With the heat warnings projected in the coming weeks, officials have set up ‘Cooling Stations’ at the following locations:
